Job Summary
We are seeking skilled FLT Driver's, with a valid nationally recognised counterbalance licence, to join our expanding warehouse team. (In-house licences considered for those with the relevant experience) Although this is a temporary position initially the client are looking to increase their permanent headcount so there is an opportunity for progression for those candidates showing the correct attitude & application. The successful candidate's will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, loading and unloading goods, and supporting warehouse operations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of warehouse procedures and safety standards, committed to maintaining smooth logistical processes within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of goods.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform minor repairs or report maintenance issues to ensure forklift safety and functionality.
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Support stock organisation by stacking pallets, arranging goods, and maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and optimise workflow efficiency.
Requirements
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence recognised in the UK.
- Proven experience operating forklifts within a warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures, including load & unload operations.
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving processes is desirable.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure safety compliance and operational accuracy.
- A strong sense of H&S procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Shifts & Rates of Pay
- 9.00-18.00 Mon-Fri, £12.88 Per Hr (Modern & clean working environment, site closes on Bank Holidays and for Christmas period)
