We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly team at Meadowcare. You will play an important role in preparing nutritious, appetising meals that support the health and wellbeing of our residents while creating a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook balanced, high-quality meals and snacks for residents.
- Cater for a range of dietary requirements, including modified textures, allergies, and medical diets.
- Plan menus in collaboration with the management team and residents where appropriate.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
- Manage food stock, place orders, and minimise waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety legislation and infection control procedures.
- Keep accurate records, including temperature checks and cleaning schedules.
- Work effectively as part of the wider care home team to provide an excellent service.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or Kitchen Assistant, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or catering environment.
- Has a good understanding of food hygiene and food safety standards.
- Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or is willing to obtain one).
- Is organised, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Enjoys preparing home-style meals and takes pride in delivering quality food.
- Has a caring and respectful approach to working with older people.

Pay: £12.71-£19.25 per hour
