We are recruiting internally and externally for a full time permanent Pharmaceutical Procurement Executive to join Procurement team.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Pharmaceutical Procurement Executive to be the operational backbone of our purchasing and supply chain function for medicinal products. Reporting to the Head of the department, you’ll keep purchase orders accurate, stock levels optimised, and Home Office licensing on track — in a supply chain where precision matters.
This is a junior role. Home Office and MHRA knowledge is a plus, not a requirement — full training will be provided. What we need is someone organised, detail-driven, and confident with systems and numbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring pricing, quantities, and terms are accurate and match agreed commercial terms
- Plan and time purchases against supplier lead times and monthly demand, to keep stock availability optimal without over- or under-ordering
- Own the accuracy of the purchasing process end-to-end, from order through to delivery
- Maintain clear, accurate, and well-organised records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements
- Support Home Office licensing applications, product registrations, and permit endorsements
- Keep Home Office import/export reporting accurate and up to date
- Follow company SOPs to support supply chain approvals
- Coordinate with logistics and warehousing colleagues to support inbound operations
- Liaise with Production, Quality Assurance, Pharmacy, and Customer Service to support the wider supply chain
This is not an exhaustive list of duties. The successful candidate will be expected to take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves.
Experience
Experience in a procurement or purchasing role, ideally within a regulated industry
- Understanding of demand planning — able to balance stock availability against lead times and monthly demand
- Strong Excel and ERP/procurement systems skills — essential
- Organised, detail-driven, and calm under a changeable workload
- A confident communicator, comfortable liaising with suppliers and colleagues
- Prior exposure to controlled drug regulations or MHRA licensing is a plus, but not required
Start date: Immediate
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
