Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to support individuals within care homes and in their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality personal care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the wellbeing of clients. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and daily routines in accordance with their care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Help with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies
- Support clients with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare teams to ensure consistent care delivery
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, ensuring safe transportation
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely is preferred
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow specified procedures accurately
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Excellent communication skills and empathy towards clients’ needs
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Organised, reliable, and able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism
