Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Taper and Jointer to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for finishing interior surfaces with precision, ensuring smooth transitions between different materials, and preparing surfaces for painting or further finishing. Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and other surfaces to create smooth, even finishes.
- Sand and finish surfaces to achieve a polished appearance suitable for painting or decorating.
- Use hand tools such as trowels, knives, and sanding blocks to refine surface textures.
- Operate power tools including sanders, drills, and saws safely and effectively.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise application of finishing techniques.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, electricians, and other trades to coordinate finishing tasks seamlessly.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris regularly.
Experience
- Proven experience in drywall taping, jointing, plastering, or related finishing trades within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, and construction painting is a plus.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques and the use of various hand tools and power tools required for surface finishing.
- Ability to read schematics and technical instructions accurately.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with diverse trades is highly desirable.

Pay: £17.49-£24.97 per hour
