Are you a skilled maintenance person with a passion for creating safe and welcoming environments?

A little bit about us

Mearns House is a 68-bed purpose-built care home located in the affluent town of Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire,, where we provide residential nursing, dementia and short-stay respite care. Our home combines modern facilities with compassionate, person-centred care, creating a supportive environment where residents can feel safe, valued and comfortable. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional care, we’d love to welcome you to the team.

Salary: £13.86 per hour

Hours: 20 hours per week, worked over 3 days

What we're looking for:

We are looking for someone who has experience in maintenance, ideally in healthcare or senior living environments who:

Knows your way around basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks

Is a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail

Is self-motivated and good at managing your own time

Is a great communicator and a team player

Can keep your work area clean and safe

Has basic IT skills

And you're willing to learn whatever you need to do the job right

Role and responsibilities

Swiftly and efficiently handle any general maintenance work and record-keeping within the care home

Guarantee all Compliance and Mandatory checks are completed and recorded within the designated timeframe

Prioritise a safe environment for all our residents and colleagues

Maintain all equipment utilised by employees and residents to the highest standard, ensuring it's always ready for use

Keep garden areas, driveways, and paths tidy and welcoming at all times

Follow all purchasing routines as outlined by Meallmore Ltd. We're here to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely for you.
