Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Support Workers to provide high-quality assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing, safety, and independence of clients, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, or requiring hospice care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support with medication administration in accordance with prescribed plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing
- Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in clients with dementia or behavioural challenges
- Drive clients safely to appointments or social activities when required
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary
- Assist with specialised care needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, and senior care
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed while ensuring safety protocols are followed
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration and behaviour management
- Certification or training in first aid is advantageous
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physical tasks safely and effectively
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients when necessary
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caring environment
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required
