The Jaleh Esfahani Cultural Foundation is a London-based registered charity established in 2007 to promote Persian poetry, literature, and culture in memory of the renowned Iranian poet Jaleh Esfahani. The Foundation organises cultural events, poetry readings, workshops, and educational programmes to support public engagement with Persian arts and to encourage emerging writers and artists.
Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Compliance & Finance Assistant (Volunteer) to support our team for an initial period of 3 months (with the possibility of extension).
This role is ideal for someone interested in gaining practical experience in compliance, basic accounting, financial support, and social media coordination within a culturally focused organisation.
The role is designed to be flexible, with expected commitment of up to 15 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with compliance-related tasks, including:
Supporting record-keeping and internal processes
Maintaining organised documentation in line with internal requirements
Assist with basic financial tasks, including:
Recording expenses and tracking simple accounts
Supporting budgeting and financial organisation
Provide general operational support, including:
Data entry and document organisation
Managing emails and basic correspondence
Supporting day-to-day activities
Support social media management:
Posting content and updates
Assisting with engagement and basic content planning
Requirements
Good organisational and communication skills
Interest in compliance, finance, or nonprofit operations
Familiarity with social media platforms
Attention to detail and willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Ability to read and speak Persian (Farsi) is an advantage
No prior work experience is required
