We have two popular independent hotels located close to Euston station and Camden Town . Our Euston hotel is a 99-bedroom hotel with 15 conference and meeting rooms, and a spacious on-site restaurant and bar.
Our Camden Town hotel is a 39-bedroom hotel with couple of conference and meeting spaces.

The role
As a Facilities and Maintenance Assistant, you will work closely with the rest of our team to make sure that all of the equipment in the building is taken care of and to ensure that our maintenance procedures comply with company standards. You will report to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager and Deputy Maintenance Manager.
Position Overview: The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. This includes painting, fixing sinks, and attending to other general maintenance requirements. The role is vital in ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for all employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities for this role are broadly mentioned here and are not restricted to only these duties. The tasks may be reviewed periodically by the Line Manager as per the business needs. It is expected that the duties be carried out with due regard to Health & Safety requirements
1. Painting and Decorating:
a. Prepare surfaces for painting by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint.
b. Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
c. Ensure all painted surfaces meet the company’s quality standards.
2. Plumbing Maintenance:
a. Fix and maintain sinks, toilets, and other plumbing fixtures.
b. Diagnose and repair leaks, clogs, or other plumbing issues.
c. Install new plumbing fixtures as required.
3.General Maintenance:
a. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems (e.g., heating, ventilation, electrical).
b. Repair or replace defective equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
c. Carry out minor carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, locks, and windows.
d. Assist with the setup and breakdown of company events or meetings.
e. Supporting in the preventative maintenance and methodical testing of rooms and equipment, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and electrical work
f. Assisting with all basic maintenance issues within our hotel
- Identify items/areas in need of replacement or repair across the site.
- Maintain a tidy workshop, ensure tools and equipment are maintained and kept in a good state of repair.
- Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed
- Ensure that you or a team member respond to emergencies, ensuring the weekend on-call rota is facilitated.
4. Safety and Compliance:
a. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
b. Ensure that maintenance activities do not disrupt normal business operations.
c. Conducting regular fire alarm tests pre-requisite
d. Ensuring our hotel is both safe and functional for our guests, by conducting regular checks, contributing to ensuring each visitor has an outstanding experience.
e. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager promptly.
5. Learning and Development: Actively participate and timely complete training sessions planned as required for the role.
Qualifications and Skills:
a. Previous experience in a maintenance or similar role is essential.
b. An individual with a wealth of experience across electrics, plumbing, mechanical and health codes. Proficiency in painting, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
c. Basic knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems is a plus.
d. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
e. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
f. Good physical condition and stamina.
g. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
h. You will have outstanding attention to detail and a passion for completing high-quality work.
i. Technical Skills: Competence in using a variety of hand and power tools.
j. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
k. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
l. Attention to Detail: Ensures all work meets quality standards and follows precise instructions.
Working Conditions
a. This position requires physical work, including lifting, bending, and working at heights.
b. The role may involve working in various environments, both indoors and outdoors.
c. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to address urgent maintenance issues.
