Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative with forklift driving experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient materials handling, shipping and receiving operations, and maintaining a safe and organised warehouse environment. This role offers the opportunity to utilise mechanical skills and warehouse management systems to support smooth logistical processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load and unload goods
- Manage materials handling tasks, including moving items within the warehouse
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation
- Maintain organisation of stock within the warehouse, adhering to safety standards
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults promptly to minimise downtime
- Utilise warehouse management systems for inventory tracking and updates
- Perform manual lifting of heavy items in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Support stock counting, order picking, and packing processes as required
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment, including operating forklifts
- Valid forklift licence recognised by relevant authorities
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to carry out basic equipment repairs
- Strong materials handling skills with an understanding of load security and safety procedures
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory counts and order processing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience in shipping & receiving operations is advantageous
- A proactive attitude towards health and safety compliance and teamwork
Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
