Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained consistently. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff supervision, and maintaining a vibrant, efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold high standards of food quality and safety.
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Manage food production processes, including ordering supplies, stock control, and waste minimisation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to foster a positive working environment and promote professional development.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor kitchen performance metrics and implement improvements as necessary.
- Maintain organised kitchen operations, including scheduling shifts and managing labour costs effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior culinary role, ideally as a Head Chef or Sous Chef within a reputable restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and cooking methods.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage staff efficiently.
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Previous experience in menu development and food innovation is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management.
- A passion for hospitality, customer service, and delivering memorable dining experiences.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
