About the Role
This position involves supporting individuals with complex care needs within their home environment. You will be working with a 29‑year‑old lady with moderate learning disabilities, who requires support with:
- A* stoma*
- Intermittent catheterisation
- Spina bifida
- Epilepsy
She has her own mobility vehicle, enjoys being out and about, and thrives with support from someone who is bubbly, chatty, engaging, and confident.
Her interests include:
- Art and creative activities
- Going into town for food and drinks
- Musicals and theatre
- Spending time with family and friends
- Her strong Christian faith
Experience in care is essential, and a full UK driving licence is required to support her in the community.
While experience with complex care is advantageous, it is not essential — your empathy, reliability, and willingness to learn matter most. Full, comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver attentive, responsive care to ensure safety, comfort, and well‑being.
- Provide healthcare support as trained, including stoma care, catheter support, and epilepsy awareness.
- Encourage independence wherever appropriate.
- Support the individual in accessing the community, social activities, and her mobility vehicle.
- Engage her in meaningful, stimulating activities such as art, outings, and social visits.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, management, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date care records.
- Assist with personal care as required.
- Provide respite and additional support to the individual’s family or guardians.
Essential Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in care.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Two valid references.
- Two forms of identification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Willingness to work towards a Level 2/3 Health & Social Care Diploma.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Valid DBS certificate (Update Service).
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care.
Working Hours
- Day hours
- Waking Nights: 21:00–09:00
- Support with annual leave and sickness
