Working Pattern: 5 out of 7 (Early & Lates: to early shift start is 7.30am and late finish is 10.30pm

About the Role
As a General Catering Assistant / Barista, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the café and food service areas. From preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food to maintaining excellent hygiene standards, you'll help create a welcoming and professional experience for students, staff, and visitors.
Working as part of a busy team, you'll support both core catering operations and retail café services while ensuring the highest standards of customer care.
What You’ll Do

Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages

Prepare and serve a range of coffees and speciality drinks using commercial coffee machines

Operate café equipment including coffee machines, panini grills, blenders, and dishwashers

Support both retail café operations and core feeding services

Operate the EPOS till system and process cash and card transactions accurately

Replenish food displays and service counters throughout the day

Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic café, kitchen, and customer areas

Follow all food hygiene, allergen, health & safety, and company procedures

Support stock replenishment and deliveries

Respond to customer queries in a friendly, professional manner

Report incidents, complaints, compliments, or maintenance issues appropriately

Attend training sessions and team meetings as required

Support the wider catering team to ensure smooth daily operations

Previous experience in a café, hospitality, retail, or catering environment

Previous barista experience

Experience operating tills or EPOS systems
