Official Veterinarian (OV) - Food/Animal Product Export Health Certification (EHC)/Auditing

The Role
We are looking for a part-time OV with some experience already gained within exports ideally, with an eye for detail, flexibility, and a willingness to travel as part of the working day. As an OV, you will use your veterinary expertise to ensure the safety of public and animal health. PX panel qualification . For those with a lower experience level and a PX panel qualification full training would be given.
This part-time opportunity may also suit a current practice vet in the area looking to develop their veterinary skills. Full training would be given including support to gain the export PX panel qualification along with work shadowing our experienced team.
Key Duties
- On-site ID check of products for export
- Review of supporting evidence provided to sign EHCs
- Refer to guidance notes and relevant legislation
- Stamp and sign EHC's
- Deal with exporter queries and give advice
- Build strong working relationships with other staff on site
Working Arrangements
- Daily travel to client sites is required with most locations being no more than 1-1.5 hours in distance. There may be some home-based work from time to time
- Part time hours - 16 -24 per week
- Weekend/unsocial hours are required, dependent on client needs
- Days worked to be agreed, length of day may vary, i.e., some shorter days, some longer, depending on business requirements
Essential
- Qualified veterinary surgeon
- Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS
- Full driving license and own vehicle
- OCQ ES, EX, PX panels (unless vet trainee role)
Salary & Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of £45-47,000 per annum for full-time hours, pro rata for part-time hours, inclusive of London weighting, depending on background, skills, and experience.
