Job Description:
SD Commercial (UK) Ltd is seeking a proactive, professional and compassionate Housing Officer to join our Block Management Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high standards of customer service while supporting residents and maintaining safe, secure and well-managed accommodation.
As a Housing Officer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our properties, ensuring residents receive appropriate support, accommodation standards are maintained, and all health, safety and safeguarding responsibilities are met.
Key Responsibilities:
· Reception Duties:
o Oversee the signing in and out of all guests, visitors, and contractors.
o Complete help desk forms for reactive maintenance and ensure they are passed on to the relevant departments.
o Provide comprehensive administrative support to the residence team.
o Deliver an excellent and professional reception service to residents and visitors.
o Handle queries and complaints in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner.
· Security and Health and Safety:
o Conduct regular patrols of the residence and grounds, reporting any security or safety concerns.
o Monitor and enforce health, safety, and maintenance standards within the residence and grounds, reporting any issues to the residence management.
· Report Writing:
o Prepare and complete necessary reports, including incident reports, noise complaints, accident reports, and others as required.
o Monitor resident conduct, encouraging adherence to the Code of Conduct, and report any breaches.
o Provide evidence and detailed reports when requested by the management team.
o React to incidents promptly, utilizing initiative and ensuring accurate logs and reports are made.
· Customer and Colleague Liaison:
o Liaise effectively with other Facilities Officers, clients, sub-contractors, and residents, fostering positive working relationships.
· Other Duties:
o Act as the appointed First Aid person when required.
o Assist the residence team in preparing for new arrivals.
o Undertake other general duties as required to support the efficient running of the property.
o Act as a liaison between residents, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication at all stages of property management.
Person Specification:
Skills, Experience, and Personal Qualities (Essential Criteria):
· Previous experience in property management or a similar role (1 year minimum).
· Excellent telephone manner with strong communication skills.
· Highly organised with a proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving.
· Good understanding of health and safety practices and regulations.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
· Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
· A flexible, adaptable team player, with a willingness to assist others and share knowledge.
· Ability to work outside regular hours if necessary, and assist with emergencies or special projects.
· Experience working with vulnerable or diverse communities.
· Necessary experience and well-versed with Safeguarding aspects.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, site-based position.
- Flexibility is required to meet operational needs and shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, nights and occasional on-call duties.

Qualifications:
· Experience in property management (1+ year) and customer service (1+ year) is a plus point.
· A background in health and safety is desirable, but not mandatory.
