Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in line with restaurant standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards across all menu items
- Support food preparation activities, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients
- Ensure proper food safety practices are followed at all times, including hygiene standards and storage procedures
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Assist in training new team members and fostering a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen setting
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage team members effectively and lead by example
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant industry certifications are preferred
