A resilient and committed Deputy Manager is needed to join the team at Oakley House Children's Home (OHCH). This is a new home that will care and support two young people aged from 6-18 with learning disabilities who may display challenging behaviours.

Shift Pattern:
- 40 hours per week (Full-time)
- You will be required to work weekends and holidays
- Overtime (When needed/Short-staffed)
- Mixture of office hours (9am - 5pm) and day shifts (9am - 9pm)

- To comprehend OHCH policies and practises and to possess the courage to seek clarification when they are confused.
What do you need?
- A Full UK Drivers Licence
- NVQ Level 3 in residential childcare, or the equivalent.
- Previous Residential Support Worker Experience or experience within the care field.
Duties include:
- Support the young people in the household by encouraging education, fostering their independence, and taking care of their health and welfare.
- Uphold a secure atmosphere and environment for the young people
- Support challenging behaviour safely and sympathetically and by following OHCH policies.
- Deter difficult behaviour while maintaining safety, compassion, and adherence to OHCH principles.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the team, parents, social worker and other professionals that may be involved within the young people’s lives
- Build and develop good positive relationships with the young people
- Encourage and involve the young people in activities and new experiences to enrich their lives
- Follow and write care plans and risk assessments, do essential job tasks, attend team meetings and meetings with other professionals, and adhere to the home's policies and procedures.
- Ensure paperwork is kept up to date and work alongside the manager to manage the staff team.
- Work alongside the registered manager to ensure the best running of the home.
- supervisions with support workers.
- Complete or help with the homes rota.
- Ensure all young people are up to date with health appointments.
- Undertaking everyday parenting responsibilities, such as domestic chores, cooking, shopping, taking young people to appointments/meetings, supporting homework etc.
- Support the young people in their personal development, gaining vital life skills for future independent living
