Spire Cardiff Hospital is looking for an expereince, motivated and reliable Bank Cardiology Nurse to join our hardworking Cardiology team on a Bank basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist service where you'll use your clinical skills across a varied caseload while gaining exposure to cardiology procedures. .
About the Role
As a Bank Cardiology Nurse , you will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of cardiology services across the hospital, supporting patients through diagnostics, procedures and recovery.
You'll work across the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, outpatient cardiology services and inpatient wards, providing specialist nursing expertise where it's needed most. This role offers a wide variety of clinical experiences, from assisting with complex interventions to sharing knowledge with colleagues and helping maintain high standards throughout the service.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of patient care in accordance with operational policies and procedures
- Promote and safeguard the wellbeing, dignity and interests of all patients
- Scrub and assist during a full range of interventional cardiology procedures
- Assist with the implantation of IABP and other complex cardiac devices as the service grows
- Prepare the cardiology suite, ensuring equipment, instrumentation and supplies are available for procedures
- Provide specialist support within non-invasive outpatient cardiology services where required
- Assist in the smooth running of cardiology lists with minimal supervision
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with hospital policies and professional standards
Who we're looking for:
Contract: Bank
Days/Hours: Monday to Saturday Flexible bank shifts available within department operating hours of 07:30 – 18:00
- Current NMC registration with no restriction on practice
- Substantial experience as a Registered Nurse
- Experience within cardiology or a cardiac catheterisation laboratory environment is essential
- Confident and capable, with the ability to work on your own initiative
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible approach to work and working patterns
- Professional, reliable and adaptable in a busy clinical environment

- Able to build positive working relationships with colleagues across the hospital
