Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Retail Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining the store’s organisation, and supporting merchandising efforts. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Provide expert advice on gardening and horticulture products, including plants, tools, and accessories
- Maintain the organisation and visual presentation of the store to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Support merchandising activities by replenishing stock and arranging displays effectively
- Handle transactions accurately at the checkout, including processing payments and issuing receipts
- Assist customers in selecting suitable products based on their requirements
- Keep the store clean, tidy, and well-stocked throughout the day
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus
- Multilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base
- Strong organisational skills to manage stock and maintain store presentation
- Knowledge of gardening and horticulture products is advantageous
- Experience or interest in merchandising to create appealing displays
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
