Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bar/Waitressing staff member to join our vibrant, member-only Conservative Social Club in Barnstaple. We are seeking an individual who will contribute to our friendly and professional team, ensuring all members experience a warm welcome and high-quality service.
Our Club features a bar, lounge bar, and function room. Usually serving a variety of home-cooked food and drinks throughout the week. Members can enjoy activities such as skittles, pool, snooker, shove ha’penny, and darts in a sociable environment.
Responsibilities
- Taking orders for food and drink from members.
- Serving food promptly and professionally.
- Serving alcoholic beverages responsibly.
- Assisting with membership enquiries and issues.
- Cleaning and resetting tables to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Processing payments accurately, including both cash and card transactions.
- Undertaking cleaning duties, including stocking supplies, sanitising surfaces, sweeping floors, and general upkeep.
Skills & Qualities
- Strong hospitality skills, with a keen focus on customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, pub, or other customer-facing role is highly desirable.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and managing orders.
- Excellent time management to handle busy periods efficiently.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, reliable, and hardworking, with a can-do approach and readiness to work as part of a team.
