Estimator - Utilities (HV Substation Framework)
Location: Scotland (Hybrid / Remote with offices near Glasgow)
Salary: Up to £60,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits
ThreeSixty Talent are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering projects across Scotland as part of a major SSE 33kV Substation Framework.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a £5 million programme of works, working on a wide range of electrical infrastructure projects across the country. Offering flexible hybrid or remote working, this role would suit an experienced estimator looking to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of secured work.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for utility infrastructure projects, supporting tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
You'll work closely with operational teams, commercial departments and clients to ensure bids are commercially viable and technically accurate.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed estimates and cost plans for utility infrastructure projects.
- Prepare tender submissions for HV electrical substation and associated infrastructure works.
- Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
- Liaise with project delivery teams to ensure smooth handover following contract award.
- Maintain accurate pricing databases and estimating records.
- Support value engineering initiatives and alternative construction methods where appropriate.
Requirements
To be considered you'll ideally have:
- Previous estimating experience within utility or infrastructure projects.
- Experience pricing work within utility framework agreements.
- Background in one or more of the following:
- HV Electrical Substations
- Power & Energy Infrastructure
- Gas Networks
- Water Frameworks
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
