To run shifts, delivering high standards of care, love, protection and support to the children facilitating their physical, psychological, emotional, and social development in line with the individual care plans. To act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to achieve their aspirations.
Abilities required for the Role of Senior Residential Support Worker include but are not limited to:
- The ability to organise, plan and take responsibility.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both with colleagues and children, verbally and in writing.
- The ability to motivate, aid and guide children in their self-development.
- The ability to be flexible and creative.
- The ability to set appropriate examples for children at all times.
- The ability to genuinely listen and respond responsibly with sensitivity.
- The ability to manage children who display disruptive or challenging behaviour and to guide/direct staff in managing that behaviour.
- Ability to understand and implement Quality Standards.
- Ability to react calmly in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain IT based administrative records as required by the organisation.
