Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Service & Install Engineer to join our growing team.
This role is primarily focused on delivering high-quality reactive and preventative support services to customers, ensuring systems remain operational, reliable, and fully supported throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will take ownership of technical issues, provide excellent customer service, and deliver timely fault resolution across a variety of customer environments.
In addition to service delivery responsibilities, the role will support installation projects, technology upgrades, commissioning activities, and workplace technology deployments where required.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, customer interaction, and technical problem solving, whilst retaining the capability to undertake installation and project-related works.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Support
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system faults and technical incidents.
- Deliver preventative maintenance visits and system health checks.
- Take ownership of incidents through to successful resolution.
- Ensure support activities are completed within agreed service levels.
- Escalate and manage complex technical issues where required.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support continuous service improvement initiatives.
Preventative & Reactive Maintenance
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Complete break-fix repairs and equipment replacements.
- Perform system audits and operational reviews.
- Apply software, firmware, and configuration updates.
- Ensure customer systems remain supportable and operational.
- Reduce repeat incidents through proactive fault identification.
Installation & Upgrade Works
- Assist our installation team in delivering installation activities across customer environments.
- Install and configure equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Support technology refresh, upgrade, and expansion projects.
- Complete commissioning and testing activities.
- Undertake remedial and snagging works where required.
- Ensure installations meet company and customer standards.
Customer Service
- Act as a professional representative of the business.
- Build positive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Manage customer expectations throughout service and installation activities.
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
Documentation & Reporting
- Produce detailed service and installation reports.
- Record diagnostics, findings, actions, and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate asset and configuration records.
- Update technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure all records are completed accurately and within required timescales.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience in a Service Engineer, Field Service Engineer and an Install Engineer role.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical environments.
- Experience delivering preventative and reactive maintenance services.
- Experience undertaking installation and commissioning activities.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting managed service customers.
- Experience working within SLA-driven service environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms and meeting room technologies.
- Industry certifications and manufacturer accreditations.
- Structured cabling and infrastructure installation experience.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
