Role Overview
As a Domiciliary Dental Therapist at Golden Age Smiles, you will provide high-quality dental care directly within care homes across Liverpool and surrounding areas. You will work with elderly and vulnerable patients, delivering compassionate, patient-centred treatment in a familiar and comfortable environment.
This role focuses on improving oral health outcomes for residents who are unable to easily access traditional dental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments for care home residents
- Deliver preventative and therapeutic dental treatments, including scale and polish and periodontal care
- Support early identification of oral health issues and escalate where appropriate
- Develop individualised treatment approaches based on patient needs and clinical findings
- Work closely with dental nurses, care home staff, and the wider clinical team to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in line with GDC and organisational standards
- Provide oral health education to patients, carers, and family members
- Ensure all infection control, safeguarding, and compliance procedures are strictly followed
- Travel between multiple care homes across Liverpool and surrounding areas
Qualifications & Skills
- GDC registered Dental Therapist (essential)
- Strong understanding of oral anatomy, physiology, and periodontal health
- Experience in community, special care, or domiciliary dentistry is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate and patient-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple patient lists efficiently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to UK dental regulations
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience working with elderly or medically complex patients
- Previous exposure to domiciliary or care home-based dentistry
Pay: £36.00-£42.00 per hour
