Business Development Manager – Construction & Property
MK Trading Ltd is seeking a motivated and commercially focused Business Development Manager to support the growth of our construction, refurbishment and property-related business activities.
The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, develop relationships with clients and industry partners, support tender and proposal activities, and contribute to the company's overall business development strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research and pursue new business opportunities within the construction, refurbishment and property sectors.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and industry partners.
- Identify prospective projects, contracts and commercial opportunities.
- Prepare and present business proposals, quotations, bids and tender submissions.
- Liaise with management and project teams regarding project requirements, pricing and commercial feasibility.
- Research market trends, competitors and potential areas for business growth.
- Maintain and develop the company's business-development pipeline.
- Follow up enquiries, proposals and potential contracts.
- Attend client meetings, presentations, networking events and relevant industry events where required.
- Develop and implement business-development strategies in line with company objectives.
- Monitor pipeline activity, conversion rates and revenue opportunities.
- Prepare regular business-development and performance reports for management.
- Support resource planning by communicating anticipated project and business requirements.
- Ensure professional standards are maintained in all client-facing and business-development activities.
Essential Requirements
- Degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good commercial awareness and analytical ability.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to understand project requirements and commercial information.
- Ability to prepare professional proposals, presentations and reports.
- Confident dealing with clients, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Good Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience or knowledge of construction, refurbishment, property or related industries.
- Previous business development, sales or project-related experience.
- Understanding of proposals, quotations, bids or tender processes.
Salary: £40000 - £45000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
