Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to residents in care homes and individuals receiving home care services. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort and wellbeing, and supporting care plans under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility and daily activities, promoting independence where possible
- Follow care plans accurately to meet individual needs and preferences
- Maintain clear communication with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Document care provided accurately using IT systems and record keeping protocols
- Support medication administration as directed by qualified staff
- Ensure a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Drive or accompany residents to appointments or outings if required
- Respond promptly to residents' needs and report any concerns or changes in condition to senior staff
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with care plans and basic IT systems for documentation purposes is advantageous
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members
- Driving experience or a valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs
- Demonstrated ability to work compassionately, patiently, and professionally in a caring environment
