Just ONE is looking for compassionate, positive and people-focused Youth Support Workers to join our Caerphilly team on a zero-hours contract. This role supports vulnerable young people aged 16–25 to build confidence, develop essential life skills and take safe, steady steps towards independent living. Hours will vary according to the needs of the young people we support, making this a flexible opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference while developing their skills through ongoing training and support.
About the Role
In this role, you will be a consistent and trusted presence in a young person’s day-to-day life. Your support will help them feel safe, make positive choices, build routines, strengthen relationships and progress towards their own goals. By working closely with colleagues, professionals and the wider support network, you will contribute to a team approach that promotes stability, independence and better outcomes for young people.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Youth Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in each young person’s journey by providing practical, emotional and person-centred support that is tailored to their individual needs, choices, routines and aspirations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Promoting each young person’s wellbeing and ensuring their home environment is safe and comfortable.
- Encouraging independence by helping them develop everyday living skills in areas they want to grow.
- Building trusting, respectful relationships that empower young people to feel heard and valued.
- Maintaining clear professional boundaries to keep everyone safe.
- Supporting young people to access education, training and employment opportunities, based on their personal goals.
- Recording daily progress in a supportive and strengths‑based way that recognises achievements.

What We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone who is calm under pressure, reliable, emotionally resilient and able to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries. You will need to be confident working as part of a team, following support plans, communicating clearly and responding to young people with patience, consistency and respect.
We welcome people from all backgrounds, including those new to care, if you bring the right values and a willingness to learn:
- A caring, patient and person‑centred approach.
- Applicants with or without experience, as full training is provided.
- Flexibility to work days, waking nights, overnights, weekends and at least one sleep‑in per week.
· Ideally, 12 months’ experience working with young people, including paid, voluntary, personal or transferable experience.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work towards goals with the young person.
- A Level 3 qualification in children & young people — or willingness to complete one with the company.
