Your Role as a Healthcare Assistant
As a Healthcare Assistant covering maternity leave, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our residents and ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
- Supporting residents during mealtimes and helping with hydration
- Accurately recording care details including food and fluid intake
- Promoting social interaction and engaging residents in meaningful activities
- Working collaboratively with nurses and other team members to deliver 24-hour care
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment for all
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 6 months paid or voluntary experience in a care or support role
- A genuine interest in working with older people and vulnerable adults
- Registration with, or willingness to register with, NISCC (Northern Ireland Social Care Council)
- Right to work in the UK (proof will be required)
- Willingness to undergo an Access NI Enhanced Disclosure Check
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts on a rota basis across 24-hour care patterns
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
