Job Summary
We are seeking a catering allrounder (chef / cook) for our farm shop cafe team. We provide wholesome food in a retail setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and customer service to use their skills within a friendly and rural setting. We are looking for 3-5 days per week with immediate start. Could also suit a freelance, or self employed caterer. We are open Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as Bank Holidays.
Duties
- Preparation and presentation of lite bites and specials using seasonal ingredients from the farm shop
- Must have the ability for sole charge of the kitchen when required.
- Serve customers courteously, ensuring a positive experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the catering areas of the farm shop, including tables, counters, and storage spaces
- Engage with customers, helping to main our friendly and relaxed retail experience
- Be organised and manage time effectively during busy periods
- Organise stock levels and report shortages or issues promptly
- Weekend working is essential
Skills
- Proven cooking experience in a commercial, or other structured setting
- A flair for preparation and presentation of good wholesome traditional food
- Confidence and good organisational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Basic maths skills
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Ability to work well under some pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Fluency in English is essential

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
