Due to continued growth we are looking to have a trainee painter & decorator join the team. This role would suit someone looking to build their skills, train over time with the view to progress with over time and have the view to move up long term with the company.
Starting the business 6 years ago we have spent time adjusting our service, offering and image to provide something truly unique so we are looking for someone with a drive to adapt, change and grow with us.
The role will initially consist of a training period until the successful individual becomes confident in their skill before moving to the next step with us. Our training period can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
We love new ideas and different ways to approach tasks and challenges, so you should be willing to question the norm and contribute.
The successful candidate should have a strong appetite to learn, be eager to step up to challenges, have impeccable punctuality & time keeping, work well under pressure and be presentable and professional. This role is extremely active the use of power tools, ladders and heavy lifting is required. Full training will be provided and access to our online knowledge base to support you every step of the way too.
Past experience in this field is not required however, hospitality/customer service experience is advantageous as is a full clean UK drivers licence. wed generally operate Monday to Friday however, some projects require working weekends. Applicants should be comfortable making their way to different sites across Edinburgh & the surrounding areas with early morning start times.
Some duties include:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, filling holes or cracks, caulking, repair work ETC..
- Apply primer and paint to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment
- Ensure proper health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Stock take
Offering a rate of £14 per hour during training increasing to £18 upon successful completion of the training period plus additional benefits.
