About the Role
Classroom Link is currently recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to work in a supportive and inclusive school setting in Coventry. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with behavioural needs and helping them re-engage with education.
You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting emotional regulation, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with behavioural needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Support students both inside and outside of the classroom
- Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (school, youth work, care, or similar)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in an SEN or alternative provision setting
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or care
