Job Overview:
Mega Electrical NW Ltd is seeking to appoint an approved Street Lighting Electrician to work on our street lighting projects and frameworks throughout Wales and the Northwest; Our portfolio includes highway and trunk roads, new development sites, rail stations, Local Authorities, sports and leisure facilities, ports, NHS and event lighting.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week with ample overtime available with potential to earn an extra 15% extra (Gross Pay) through overtime over a period of 12 months.

In a typical day, you could expect to be;
- Installation and Maintenance: Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of streetlighting infrastructure. This includes lighting lanterns, cables, control panels, and associated electrical components.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues and implement effective solutions to ensure the uninterrupted operation of streetlighting infrastructure.
- Testing and Inspection: Conduct testing and inspection of streetlighting equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and performance standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work activities, including maintenance schedules, inspection reports, and inventory management on a tablet device.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to strict health and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the safety of yourself and others while working on-site.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders to prioritize tasks, share information, and deliver high-quality services.
Key Areas and Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and repair of faulty components to make effective repairs
- Cabling, cutouts and feeder pillar installations
- Mast lighting
- Installation of lanterns and components that are end of life replacements
- Carry out routine maintenance
- Underground cable inspection and testing
- GN22 assets reports
- Cable tracing and column plotting using high technology equipment
- Ultrasonic structural tests
- To update job schedule and inventory information
- Car chargers
- Festive lighting
Success Measures
- Comply with daily pre-task briefings are ensure these are completed and recorded
- Ensure faults are addressed and repaired in acceptable timeframes
- Ensure routine maintenance is delivered on time and to costs
- Quality of work is to highway standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001/18001, HEA, Sector Scheme and NICEIC.

The ideal candidate(s) must have:
- JIB -ECS card holder
- Full Driving Licence
- Be flexible to work out of hours shifts if required
- Willing to attended training courses provided

- 2391 Testing and Inspection or equivalent would be advantageous but not essentials
