CHILDREN’S PASTOR ROLE
This part of the role will also be an opportunity to establish new initiatives to reach out to those in our local community, as well as pastor the established church families. You need to have a passion for kids (especially pre-school age children, as that is currently the main age-range of children we have in church), as well as being comfortable working with parents. You will need an enhanced DBS for this part of the role.
The main duties of the Children’s Pastor role comprise:
(i) leading and co-ordinating the Sunday school and creche at St Peter’s church during our 10.30am morning service;
(ii) running a playgroup for toddlers and their parents once a week on Wednesday mornings (Wiggles & Worship);
(iii) continue and expand on our ad-hoc initiatives, such as Messy church and Holiday club;
(iv) being our Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) and ensuring that safeguarding standards are adhered to across our church.
ADMINISTRATOR ROLE
The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring our efficiency and effectiveness in fulfilling our ministry and mission. The church currently has a full-time Head of Operations – this role would be providing more operational and administrative support, and will require a flexible, hands-on attitude to work, with a willingness to assist the other staff and congregation members when needs present themselves.
The role is extremely varied, but there are four main strands:
– Church Administration (including Events);
– Bookings;
– Facilities management;
– Communications.
All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK. We are unable to sponsor applicants for this post.
The Diocese of London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults through the use of the Safer Recruitment practice guidance. This role is subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.
