DRIVERS JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose: Multi Drop deliveries. To Deliver furniture by preparing, loading, unloading. Delivering to customers homes either to the door or within their property. Assembly of furniture if required.
Duties:
- Prepares van for operation by inspecting general condition, checking fluid levels and tyre pressure, informing the Transport Manager of any required repairs, validating adherence to roadabilility standards.
- Loads van by placing and securing items of furniture
- Ensuring vehicle has all necessary tools and equipment to include, Rope ties, Blankets, Tools to put bedframes together, over shoes etc.
- Delivers items by identifying destinations, establishing route, operating the van, unloading items, maintaining schedule
- Delivering furniture into a customers home
- Assembly of furniture into a customers home - this may involve assembling beds, bedframes, tables and chairs, and other items of furniture
- Serve customers by addressing them in a courteous manner and understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints if necessary
- Obtains payment by accepting cash or credit card payments
- Maintains van operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairs
- Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organisation operational policies, procedures and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans van exterior and interior
- Maintains delivery, van and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgements; recording tracking information; completing driver log and van performance forms when necessary
