Pay:
Pay Rate: £21-£23 per hour DOE
Hours:
40 hours per week TBC
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience in maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively across all departments
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Highly organised with strong time management skills
Desirable skills:
- Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Experience with timber machinery and automated manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of PLC fault finding
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in line with schedules
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and equipment failures to minimise production downtime
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS where applicable
- Work closely with production teams to identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures, including safe systems of work and lockout/tagout requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, quality and productivity
- Manage and maintain critical spare parts and liaise with suppliers and contractors when required
- Provide technical support and training to operators to develop basic fault-finding and autonomous maintenance capabilities.
