Job Title: Domestic Gas Quality Control Engineer
Contract Role (Self-Employed): £200 – £300 per day
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Domestic Gas Quality Control Engineer to carry out technical quality inspections, compliance checks, and audits on domestic gas servicing, repairs, and installation works.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer looking to move into a quality control position, or an established QC Engineer seeking their next contract opportunity.

Typical Areas of Responsibility
You'll be carrying out a range of works including:
- Quality inspections and technical audits of domestic gas servicing, repairs, and installation works.
- Identifying defects, non-compliant installations, and areas requiring remedial action.
- Ensuring all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Producing detailed inspection reports and providing technical feedback to engineers and management teams.
- Supporting continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and promoting best practice across engineering teams.
We have opportunities across social housing, private housing, local authority, and domestic property maintenance contracts.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience as a Domestic Gas Engineer with strong knowledge of servicing, breakdowns, repairs, and boiler installations.
- Previous experience carrying out technical inspections, quality control, compliance auditing, or engineer mentoring is highly desirable.
- Current Domestic Gas Qualifications and a strong understanding of Gas Safe regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent fault-finding ability with a keen eye for detail and quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently while producing clear, accurate reports and maintaining high standards of compliance.
- Own tools, transport, and appropriate insurances to operate as a self-employed contractor.
- A professional, customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
