Working in the Lightning Protection Contracts office, the role reports to the Lightning Protection Technical Director and works alongside the Lightning Protection Contracts Manager.
The primary aim of the role is to plan, co-ordinate, arrange and deliver the test, inspection, repair, and new installation of lightning protection contracts to Horizon’s clients throughout the UK to required timescales, budgets and meet KPI's.
Liaise with the Lightning Protection Contracts Manager daily in respect of regional contract planning throughout the UK.
Allocate client contract detail onto the Lightning Protection Calendar. This includes details of any lodge required/booked, any specialist permits, specific equipment or access requirements to be considered (from quotes and/or client provided information), contact details of the client or site and denote stage of works via colour coding.
Contact each client via a combination of telephone and email to book works in giving name of operative(s), date/time of attendance, nature of the works and confirm by email.
Maintain a consistent approach to managing changes to the calendar contract planning. Update specific calendar entries denoting the stage of progress using the adopted traffic light colour coding system.
Engage in daily/weekly update meetings between lightning protection contracts team as and when required to update progress, identify key issues and help resolve.
Responsible for booking and managing lodge/accommodation for lightning protection site operatives and managers. Maintain records of bookings and work with accounts colleagues to check/confirm monthly invoicing.
Update contract spreadsheets detailing work timescales/dates completed
Ensure site inductions for personnel attending a client site are completed
Ensure client security vetting is undertaken and in place prior to teams attending site
Check Enhanced DBS and competency certificates are in place and appropriate for works being carried out.
Liaise with departmental colleagues regarding materials, equipment, PPE requirements.
Good communication skills are essential for this role for dealing with clients, colleagues and 3rd parties such as sub-contractors and suppliers involved in a contract.
Ideally candidates will have undertaken a similar role within the lightning protection industry or previously held a resource planning role
Ability to prioritise tasks and juggle workload as a number of tasks may have equal priority
Good IT skills, Horizon currently operates a paper based system but plans to transition to a digital platform in the near future.
