Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Self Employed Courier Driver to join our delivery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers flexibility and independence, ideal for those with previous delivery or driving experience who enjoy working autonomously. A valid driver’s licence and good communication skills are essential to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
- Collect parcels and goods from designated depots or warehouses
- Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries across assigned areas
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Handle packages with care, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain proof of delivery as required
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery status or issues
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Ensure the security of goods during transit and upon delivery
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of route planning and navigation
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for commercial driving, with a clean driving record
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when handling parcels
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries within tight schedules
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety standards relevant to commercial driving
