Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Media Department / Digital Media & Design Intern to join our global Media Department for a 6-month internship. This role sits at the intersection of high-end photography post-production and commercial graphic design.
As an intern, you will play a crucial role in finalising photography material and creating polished, client-facing marketing materials. You will work cross-functionally, assisting our professional Photography team with meticulous lot retouching and supporting the Marketing team with striking visual layouts. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience handling high-value assets and executing luxury-standard digital media.
Key Responsibilities
- Photo Editing & Post-Production: Finalise high-resolution photography materials for upcoming auction lots. Perform background cleaning and dust/blemish removal and stitching images.
- Graphic Design & Layouts: Create polished, client-facing marketing materials, including digital catalogue layouts, social media assets, email banners, and print advertisements.
- Asset Quality Control: Ensure all visual assets strictly adhere to brand guidelines, maintaining absolute visual consistency and accurate, true-to-life representation of all lots.
- Workflow Collaboration: Act as a key bridge between the technical Photography studio and the commercial Marketing team to ensure smooth asset delivery.
- Digital Asset Management: Maintain organised file structures and naming conventions for large volumes of high-resolution imagery to support global teams.
Candidate Requirements
Technical Skills
- Advanced Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom: Proven expertise in high-end photo editing and precise retouching.
- Adobe InDesign & Illustrator: Strong proficiency in typography, grid systems, and multi-page layout design for print and digital media.
- Visual Excellence: A strong portfolio demonstrating a clean, sophisticated aesthetic, balanced layouts, and a sharp eye for editorial or luxury design.
Professional & Operational Attributes
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: Precision when finalising imagery, ensuring no detail is missed before public or client release.
- Fast-Paced Time Management: Ability to stay organised and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously to match tight auction calendar schedules.
- Strong Communication: Comfort collaborating across different teams, translating marketing briefs into compelling visual content.
- File Organisation: Disciplined habits regarding file management, version control, and archiving high-resolution digital media.
Education & Experience
- Graduate in Graphic Design, Photography, Visual Communications, or a closely related creative field.
- Prior experience (academic or professional) creating marketing assets across digital and print channels.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
