Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, primarily utilising flatbed lorries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on commercial driving and delivery services. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent driving skills, a good understanding of road safety regulations, and the ability to manage deliveries in a timely manner.
Duties
- Operate HGV Class 2 flatbed lorries for the transportation of goods to various locations.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to specified routes and timeframes.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards and report any issues promptly.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate equipment to prevent movement during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Follow all legal requirements and company policies regarding driving hours, tachograph regulations, and health & safety procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring careful handling of items.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients to coordinate delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and customer service.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to heavy goods vehicle operation.
- Ability to operate flatbed trucks safely and securely load/unload cargo as required.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple deliveries.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
