LGV Class 1 HGV Driver
Location: South Ockendon, Thurrock, Essex
Pay: £20.04 – £30.06 per hour
Hours: Minimum 42 hours per week - Average day will be 9-12 hrs per shift
Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7 on a rota - Monday to Friday with odd weekend day
The Role
We are recruiting experienced LGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join a busy distribution operation based in South Ockendon, Essex.
We have Ongoing and Full time roles available.
You will be responsible for delivering clothing and homeware products to stores across the South East, along with some trunking work.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for professional drivers who take pride in their work and maintain high standards at all times.
Pay Rates
- Monday–Friday, 06:00–22:00: £20.04 per hour
- Saturday, 06:00–22:00: £23.04 per hour
- Sunday, 06:00–22:00: £25.04 per hour
- Sunday–Thursday nights, 22:00–06:00: £23.04 per hour
- Friday nights, 22:00–06:00: £25.04 per hour
- Saturday nights, 22:00–06:00: £27.59 per hour
- Weekly overtime: £26.05 per hour
- Scheduled day off / 6th shift: £30.06 per hour
Plus participation in a driver bonus scheme.
The standard base rate of £20.04 per hour includes a £1.99 per hour London Weighting allowance.
Working Hours
- Minimum 42 hours per week
- 5 shifts out of 7 on a rota
- Start times between 06:00 and 17:30
- Includes 2 full weekends over a 10-week period
- Rota provided for 12 months in advance
Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
- Valid Class 1 C+E licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Minimum 6 months Class 1 HGV driving experience
- Experience coupling and uncoupling trailers
- Maximum 6 points on your driving licence
- No driving convictions or disqualifications

Training & Support
Successful applicants will receive 2 days of training with a Driver Development Coach before being fully integrated into the operation.
You will also have ongoing support from your dedicated manager.
