We're recruiting for an experienced CNC Press Brake Operator to join a well-established and rapidly growing precision sheet metal fabrication business in Gateshead!

This role is commutable from Sunderland, Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, South Shields, Chester-le-Street, Houghton-le-Spring, Durham and surrounding areas.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!
What you’ll be doing
- Set up and operate CNC press brake machinery to manufacture precision sheet metal components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce components to specification
- Select and change tooling, making machine adjustments where required
- Carry out quality inspections and complete production documentation accurately
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report any faults or issues
- Work to production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
- Keep your work area clean, organised and compliant with health & safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets
Hours
Rotating shifts – 37.5 hours per week – 4 days per week
- Week 1 & 2: Days: 6:00am - 4:00pm (Monday-Thursday)
- Week 3 & 4: Nights: 4:00pm - 2:00am (Monday-Thursday)
Pay
£32,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Annual company performance bonus (up to £5,000)
- Paid overtime available at time ½
- Full training provided with opportunities to progress into skilled CNC operating roles
Skills/Experience Required
- Previous experience operating CNC press brake machinery within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience setting and changing tooling
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
- Reliable, motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- A valid UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential
