Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organised Shop Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with merchandising, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Provide product information and answer customer queries effectively
- Support merchandising efforts by organising displays and stock on shelves
- Upsell products where appropriate to enhance sales opportunities
- Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and process payments using phone etiquette
- Maintain a clean and organised shop environment
- Manage stock levels by receiving deliveries and organising stockroom areas
- Assist in organising promotional events or special offers within the store
- Utilise organisational skills to ensure the shop runs smoothly during busy periods
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure excellent customer service at all times
Requirements
- Fluency in English
- Strong communication skills with a friendly telephone manner (phone etiquette)
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
- Excellent organisational skills and time management abilities
- Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
- Previous experience in retail or merchandising is advantageous but not essential
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in display setup and stock management
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
