Catering Assistant – Temporary Contract

Hours: 30 hours per week
Working Hours: 9:00am–2:00pm
Contract: Term-time only
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to join a busy school kitchen on a temporary basis.
You will support the catering team with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and school dining area, helping to ensure food is prepared and served efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with food preparation
- Serving food to pupils and staff
- Washing up and using an industrial dishwasher
- Cleaning tables, work surfaces and other areas
- Supporting the wider kitchen team with general catering duties
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and hygienic working environment
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
About You
- Previous catering or kitchen experience would be beneficial
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a busy environment
- Able to work as part of a team
- Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene
- Flexible and willing to help with a range of kitchen duties
The role is 30 hours per week, working Monday–Friday from 7:00am to 1:00pm, term time only.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
Pay: £16.75 per hour
