Tearoom Assistant – Permanent
Based in Grosmont Station (YO22 5QE)
£20,982 per annum based on 1560 annualised hours. We are a Real Living Wage Employer.

We are currently recruiting a permanent tearoom catering assistant for Grosmont Tearoom, reporting to the tearoom supervisor. We are looking for a candidate with experience in basic food preparation and counter service, who is flexible with working hours and thrives in a busy environment and will be able to cover in the supervisor’s absence.
You will
- Assist in all aspects of food preparation and service to visitors and working members of the NYMR in a friendly, professional & profitable manner
- Cover in the supervisor’s days off, opening up and closing down the outlet & cashing up.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the premises, to clean and wipe tables & keep the tearoom clean and well stocked.
- Follow all health & safety procedures, ensuring good food hygiene practices are adhered to at all times, ensuring the tearoom retains its level 5 food standard rating.

The Hours
- This permanent Tearoom Assistant position is based on 1560 annualised hours. These hours will be mainly worked during the main operating season (March – early November), usually 5 days over 7, including weekend working.
- Additional hours will be worked during the winter months which include, but are not limited to, when the trains are running.
