About us
We are a fast-growing top-performing delivery business operating out of Croydon, running an average of 30 routes per day with a pool of around 50+ drivers. As we scale, we're looking for an experienced Onsite Manager to run daily operations reporting directly to the owner.

Please note: this is a self-employed engagement
The role
You'll own the day-to-day running of the site — from morning launch through to end-of-day debrief — with real autonomy and a direct line to the owner. This is a hands-on operational management role for someone who thrives on pace, people, and performance data.
Rate: £160 per day plus performance bonus (see below) Hours: Flexible, with a general start time of 9:30am. Some weekend cover and additional flexibility required during peak periods. Location: Croydon (onsite) Start: Immediate
What you'll do
- Run daily site operations across ~30 routes per day: route assignment, driver launch, on-road support, and return-to-station debrief
- Own the weekly performance scorecard — monitor delivery completion, safe driving, and customer feedback metrics, coach drivers on gaps, and report results to the owner
- Manage the driver pool (50+ drivers) end to end: recruitment, onboarding, daily management, and performance conversations
- Coordinate the fleet maintenance schedule and site supplies so operations run seamlessly every day
- Ensure full compliance with safety and operational standards at all times
- Analyse operational data (weekly scorecard, driving alerts,...) to identify improvement opportunities and act on them
- Communicate effectively with drivers, the owner, and external stakeholders
What you'll need
- Proven experience in a management role (required), ideally in onsite operations within logistics, delivery, or fulfilment
- Full UK driving licence held for 12+ months (max 6 points), and confidence driving a long-wheelbase van
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse team of drivers and stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership: able to motivate people, hold performance conversations, and drive results
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail while juggling multiple priorities
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing operational needs without compromising safety or standards
- Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets
What we offer
- Performance bonus linked to weekly scorecard results and route allocation growth — as site performance improves and our route count grows, so does your bonus
- Direct partnership with the business owner: your input shapes how the business runs and grows
- Real career growth: for the right person, support in launching your own operation
