Arbor Call Ltd is a well-established Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality arboricultural services across Hampshire and the surrounding counties.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Arboricultural Manager & Surveyor to join our friendly and professional team. This is a varied and hands-on management role that would suit someone with strong industry experience who enjoys leading people, maintaining high standards, and building lasting client relationships.
This is not a desk-only position. We are looking for someone who understands the realities of commercial and domestic arboriculture, leads by example, and is prepared to get involved whenever required.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the arboricultural yard and workforce.
- Carrying out domestic quotations and client consultations.
- Deploying teams, plant and equipment efficiently.
- Monitoring quality and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards.
- Maintaining our excellent Health & Safety culture and records with support from the office.
- Ensuring compliance with Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor standards.
- Carrying out staff inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing training.
- Monitoring equipment inspections and maintenance records.
- Supporting the continued development of the business through excellent customer service.
- Working alongside the outside team when experience requires. Want to reword this for mucking in
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Arboriculture.
- Minimum 5 years' proven arboricultural industry experience.
- Previous experience managing teams within the arboricultural industry.
- Professional Tree Inspector qualification (preferred but not essential).
- CS30, CS31, CS38 & CS39 certificates (CS40 & CS41 advantageous).
- Full UK Driving Licence with the ability to tow.
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent tree identification skills.
- Good understanding of pests, diseases and tree defects.
- Current knowledge of BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations.
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook – office team can assist here.
- Ability to learn and utilise industry software.
- Good understanding of ecology and environmental considerations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
