Career Teachers are recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with complex needs across mainstream schools, ARPs, and specialist SEND provisions in East London.
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals with previous experience supporting children or young people who require personal care, mobility assistance, and manual handling support. Successful candidates will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to help pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role
Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism, PMLD, SLD, and complex medical needs
Providing personal care and assisting with intimate care where required
Supporting safe moving and handling procedures
Working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups
Assisting pupils with communication, engagement, and daily routines
Supporting pupils across mainstream, ARP, and specialist SEND settings
Requirements
Previous experience providing personal care support
Manual handling experience or relevant training
Experience working within schools, care settings, SEND provisions, or support environments
Patient, resilient, and caring approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Available full-time from September 2026
