Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse range of animal patients, support veterinarians in clinical procedures, and ensure the well-being of every animal that comes through our doors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment where animal welfare is our top priority.
The desirable candidate will work 40 hours per week (4 x 10 hour days), plus an extra-pay sleeping night shift one night a week when required and 1:5 weekends with TOIL the following week. Salary dependant upon experience.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical preparations to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and analyze results to aid in accurate diagnosis
- Provide nursing care including wound management, medication administration, and patient monitoring
- Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication schedules, and general health advice
- Maintain detailed medical records and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards
- Support hospital cleanliness and organization to uphold a safe and hygienic environment for staff and animals
Skills
- RCVS registered
- Laboratory experience including sample collection, testing procedures, and result interpretation
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners, team members, and external partners
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate approach with a genuine passion for animal welfare
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy clinical setting
Pay: From £27,500.00 per year
