Job Overview
We are looking for a part-time Sewing Machine Operator to operate an industrial sewing machine to make curtains, drapes and scenery to a high standard to meet the customers requirements. The job involves reading and following detailed written instructions for each job and also involves working in a small team and helping other colleagues.
The hours are 12.30 to 5pm, 4.5 hours per day, 22.5 hours per week. We are looking for experienced sewing machinists who can use an industrial sewing machine. However training will be provided on our specific products and manufacturing processes.
Overview of Duties & Skills
- Sewing material on an industrial sewing machine to make drapes and curtains (or other items)
- Reading and following the information contained in work instruction tickets
- Assisting with the inspection and folding of materials
- General workshop duties including assisting cutters and other machine operators
- General cleaning and oiling of sewing machine
- Machine area to be kept tidy and swept clean at all times
- Operating the eyeleting machine (if required)
- Following all manufacturing procedures and safety instructions
- You must be a team player and willing to cover other areas to meet business requirements and have good communications skills (verbal, reading and writing)
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours of work: 22.5 per week, 4.5 hours per day, 12.30 to 5pm
